I've just restored the i Pod so I know it's got the latest firmware version.

It's always cured by restoring the i Pod and creating a brand new playlist (not copying the old one which is probably corrupt).
I have the same problem with my second 3gen i Pod Nano 4GB. it won´t sync the info to i Tunes when I connect the i Pod to my computer.
I"m using i Tunes version 126.96.36.199 and on Windows Vista. Hopefully this is enough people complaining that we'll get an official word on this.

I just set up some new playlists on it -- specifically one that loads 100 random unplayed tracks from my 11,000-song library onto my i Pod -- where the play count is essential, and it's not updating.

For example, if you have an Archer C7 version 4, you would choose version 4.
My new nano 3rd gen does not transfer the play count to itunes so itunes does not auto delete.
